Leaving Maine

We drove through Rockland one last time as we were leaving ME.

Can you imagine having this view all the time as you are going out and about doing your errands?

I wonder if you live here, if you get kind of used to it and don't notice it so much all the time, like in Utah with the mountains.

Before taking your kids on their third day of roadtripping in a row, you must fortify them with donuts!

Luckily, here in NE, you can't turn around without running into a Dunkin Donuts. We like the seasonal pumpkin donuts they have every year in the fall.

One of my favorite things: old barns!

We saw so many with so much character, I wish I had had the time to take photos of more of them.

We stopped briefly in Gardiner, ME and went to a quilt shop and a couple of other little shops. What a cute little town. There are so many, we just drove through one after another.

Typical NE small town scene: white steeples everywhere!

On this trip we learned that the red maples are the more red ones (duh), and the more orangey/yellow ones are the sugar maples.

This picture was for my husband, he has a thing for turrets.

Personally, I have a thing for porches, especially big ones that wrap around the house.
These pictures are mostly all taken out the car window, so they are a little quirky, but you get the idea.

I don't think we could ever get tired of visiting Maine!
