Yesterday we went to our annual ward clambake at Crane's Beach. It was cold, windy and rainy all morning, but we still had fun eating lobster, corn on the cob and clams. As we were thinking about leaving the sun came out so we stayed and let the boys play on the beach. It was still freezing but that has never stopped them from getting wet! They had a great time despite the cold and I was happy to get so many fun pictures of them. I love the beach and beach pictures of my kids are always my favorite. On the way home we stopped at a local farm and apple orchard and got fresh cider donuts that were still hot. They disappeared in about 30 seconds! We also brought home an apple pie that was delicious with vanilla ice cream later that evening. All in all a great day!
Here is my finished Row House quilt top. Don't be impressed- I finished it before the baby was born. Since she's been born it's taken me over a month to get around to taking a picture of it, let alone sit down to sew! Now I just need to put it together and quilt it.
My good friend had a baby shower for me last Sat which was great! It was kind of fun having a baby shower after the baby is already here, although she was a big party pooper and slept through the whole thing! She sure looked cute doing it though. The party was all of our mothers and daughters group who get together regularly. It so happens that a bunch of my moms friends are the mothers of a bunch of my sisters and my friends, and we've pretty much known each other forever. Now that we're adults we're just all friends. Anyhoo, the food was great, the company a lot of fun and you should see some of the adorable gifts they gave me. It was so sweet of them all. Do you see the lady looking quite pregnant in one of the pictures? That is my sister who is due with baby girl cousin #3 in just a few more weeks!! The cute little girls are my two youngest neices, and the cute mom and baby pic is my sis who's visiting from out of state for a couple of weeks. My mom and sisters and I also had a fun girls' night out the other day and went to see "Becoming Jane" which I highly recommend. Speaking of movies, I also highly recommend the movie "The Nativity Story." I absolutely loved it- don't feel like you have to wait unti Christmastime to watch it. I thought it was beautifully done. Life sure is busy these days!
I've made these for two different parties in the last couple of weeks. The recipe is from Paula Deen and can be found on the Food Network under "Lemon Blossoms." You'll be amazed at how easy they are to make. I love recipes that look impressive but are actually super easy!
My oldest and my youngest, aren't they sweet? This boy is a baby and kid magnet. He is so good with our little gal, and holds her all the time which is a great help to me. I don't know what I'd do without him!
I'm a stay-at-home mom of five who likes photography, quilting, reading, cooking when I'm in the mood, watching movies, going to the beach, home renovation and decorating, swimming, and hanging out with my kids. At the moment I'm a bit obsessed with Downton Abbey.
I live in New England, and my favorite season is spring. I love the colors green and pink.
Welcome to my blog!
